A Wedding in a Chateau in Bordeaux

“Sophie was a lovely relaxed bride, and because of this her whole wedding experience was calm. She was a joy to have in the Boutique and we feel very lucky to have helped her find the dream dress. “

Sophie and Anton’s story is below.

Anton proposed to me back in January 2017. It was on the top of a mountain in Chamonix whilst we were skiing.

We got married in a French Chateau in Bordeaux called Chateau de la Ligne. We have always had very special memories in Bordeaux and we love wine and cheese! It was the perfect wedding venue for us.

I used to live in Kenilworth so I know Henley well. I used to go there for coffee and ice cream and walk along the main high street. I would always look in the bridal boutiques windows. My maid of honour reminded me of the place when we were looking for my dress, she had been with a few of her friends before and said how much of a great experience it was.

There were many Jesus Piero dresses I loved but the one I chose was so simple but classy and sophisticated. It was a proper wedding dress, everyone that came with me the day I chose it ended up in tears, hopefully in a good way! I loved the neck line and I loved the bow!

The dress really did speak for itself so I didn’t feel the need to go mad with accessory’s. The girls suggested a veil that went perfectly with the dress and my shoes were plain satin with a kitten heel. I wore some pearl earrings as my something borrowed from my Nan and a blue diamond ring as my something blue.

I had one maid of honour and 3 bridesmaids. They wore a pastel pink/peach and all looked stunning. Their flowers were gypsaphelia with long ribbons to match their dresses.

Anton wore a navy Hugo Boss suit with pink bow tie. Very smart and handsome! He’s lucky and can wear his suit again!

Our day went perfectly. We got married at 4.30 pm and it was 24 degrees. We had a musician that played the flute as I walked down the isle and then whilst the canapes and champagne were flowing he played the guitar and sang.it was a very relaxed vibe, which is exactly what we hoped for. We only had 60 guests and so they were all close family and friends so it was really intimate. My favorite part of my day was the service, it was all about love and friendship, and we were able to have a bit of a giggle with it as well.

My photographer was from Bordeaux called Sylvain Harrison
