How did you and your partner meet?
Adam and I met way back in 2010, when we were 14. We were both on family holidays in Turkey and after a few attempts of getting my attention (jumping into the pool, and splashing me!), we became friends. We spoke for a few weeks when we got home on MSN and Facebook but didn’t think we would ever see each other again, as Adam lived in Bury St Edmunds (Suffolk) and I lived in Coventry.
Fast forward to 2014 and Adam posted on Facebook that he was moving to Coventry for Uni. After mentioning it to my mum, and her hounding me to message him, I finally “slid into his DM’s”, and offered a tour of the pubs! We spoke for a few weeks as friends, neither of us being brave of us to ask the other on a date, and constantly hoped we would bump into one another on a night out, but we didn’t. I finally built up the courage to ask him to go for a drink on 8th November 2014. We went to The Castle Grounds in Coventry and ended up dancing in Jumpin’ Jaks until the early hours of the morning.

Tell us about the proposal?
We were in New York, in November 2021. We’d had a lovely day – good food, walks around New York and a helicopter ride – then we walked to Pier 17, which looks onto Brooklyn and the Brooklyn Bridge. It was the most amazing view I’d ever seen. Adam asked if I’d enjoyed my day, then asked if he could make it any better. When I turned around he was down on one knee! It was perfect.
Give us an overview of your wedding vision and how it came to life?
We both have big families, a lot of friends and we love a party, so a fun, relaxed vibe was important to us. I love fashion, styling and pretty things in general, so I spent a lot of time making sure everything was exactly how I wanted (lots of mood boards and hundreds of Pinterest pins). We had a wonderful stylist (Sass Weddings) who understood my vision perfectly and we worked with Gabby at The Orangery for our flowers, which were absolutely beautiful.
Tell us about your experience dress shopping at BBW?
BBW was my third bridal shop, I had tried on about 20 dresses at the first two shops and had two styles that I really liked but was finding it hard to choose between. From the moment we walked in, Madi made us (Me, my mum and my sister), feel relaxed, understood and like she knew me straight away! It was a Monday, I’d had a busy day at work and I had a rash on my face, so I wasn’t looking or feeling my best when I first walked in. I tried about 9 dresses on and then Madi suggested a new dress. As soon as I put it on, I knew it was the one. I felt so beautiful. My mum and sister could tell as soon as I walked out from behind the curtain that this was “My Dress”.
I wanted to experiment with some added sleeves, so Madi ordered some samples in for me and we found the perfect ones.
Madi and Abi were a dream, always making me feel so comfortable and really understanding my vision. I especially loved trying my dress on and experimenting with different accessories!
What was your favourite moment of your wedding day?
It’s really hard to choose just one moment, but I remember sitting at our wedding breakfast, surrounded by all of my favourite people thinking how lucky I was. The whole day was perfect for me, I loved every single minute and I would do it again in a heartbeat if I could!
What advice would you give to brides planning a wedding?
– It’s cliche, but try to enjoy it and if you can, surround yourself with people who will support your decisions and give opinions (only when asked for!).
– Plan date nights for when you have wedding tasks to do (wedding invites – make some nice food, put on some music and open the bubbly)
– Lists! Make lots of lists to help you from feeling overwhelmed trying to remember everything.
– When people offer to help, let them. Delegate tasks to your wedding party, they actually do want to help!
