Laura in Stella York

“I was so excited to see Laura’s photos, she holds a special place in my heart as she braved wedding dress shopping alone. We went on a journey together to find the one. Every second of every appointment Laura was relaxed and we just had fun. Its so nice when a bride just trusts you, and the end result as you can see is stunning.”

Laura and Rob’s story is below

How did Rob propose?

We were our walking in the Welsh countryside when Rob proposed to me. It was a complete surprise as he had never shown any interest in marriage or given any hint he would propose. In fact we were both in our jogging bottoms, walking boots and sweating at the top of a very steep incline when he dropped to one knee! That made even more special however that he caught me completely by surprise and in a moment that we could both enjoy.

Where did you get married?

We got married at Jephson Gardens in Leamington Spa. It was the first venue we looked at after getting engaged. We looked at others but nothing compared as it was just so different and unique, unlike any other wedding we had ever attended. It was perfect for us with the tropical vibes as we enjoy our exotic holidays so much, this was the perfect venue without having to go abroad so all of our friends and family could join us too.

How did you find the Boutique?

I looked for local bridal boutiques and then read about some reviews and visited The Bridal Boutique Warwickshire website. I never ever imagined myself in the princess dress that I picked but I just felt so comfortable yet glamorous in it.  The dress accentuated all of my favourite features such as my waist and my back. It was also the perfect mix with the plain bottom and then the more glitz on the top. My favourite part of the dress was the latte belt! I wanted a subtle bit of colour and this was ideal.

I wore ivory satin shoes from the Rainbow club, which were so comfortable I wore them all day.  I chose not to have a veil as I had a very specific idea for my hair in mind and wanted that to take center stage rather than being hidden by a veil. However I did pop a slide in the back of my hair which was a similar pattern to the lace of my dress to pull the look all together.

I had one Bridesmaid who wore a floor length yellow dress with embellishment around the neck line. The dress was from Dorothy Perkins. Funnily enough I was on holiday when my bridesmaid saw the dress whilst out shopping, as she knows me so well she picked it anyway and then sent me a picture for me to approve!

Rob bought a new blue suit from Hawes and Curtis. He decided that the rest of the grooms party did not need to be in matching suits so they all wore navy suits. He then rented them all matching silver waistcoasts from Peter Posh to bring them all together. Rob wore a bright yellow tie as he likes to be bright and bold in his clothing choices.

We kept our wedding very classic and elegant. We were both very relaxed and wanted to keep our day quite informal so everyone was relaxed and had fun.
My favourite moment of the day was our first dance, we picked You’ve Got the Love by Candi Staton. You could here everyone singing along with us whilst we twirled on the dance floor.
What Laura had to say
“Madi and the team are AMAZING! I was shopping for my dress on my own but with Madi it didn’t feel daunting. She offered me great advice and was very honest and adapted easily to my style of fuss free shopping. She was also very respectful of my budget not trying to put me in anything I couldn’t afford. I found the dress I loved and as it wasn’t a regular they stocked she specially opened the shop one evening for me to try it before it had to be sent back. Couldn’t of asked for more.
Having had my wedding day 3 weeks ago everyone complemented the dress and I felt so comfortable and elegant in it. Couldn’t of picked better.”
