Georgie came in to the Bridal Boutique with her natural effortless beauty and we just knew we wanted her as one of our brides. She was a delight from the very first appointment and all the way through her fittings.
Georgie wore the most beautiful Jesus Peiro Two-piece in geometric guipure lace with a pleated skirt and see-through back.
Georgie tells us all about her wedding and the build up to the big day below……
Nick and I have known each other for many years as he is a good friend of my brother and sister-in-law, but a few years ago (fed up of us both being single) my mum and sister-in-law decided to meddle and basically set us up! We’ve not spent a day apart since!
Nick proposed in Barcelona in the beautiful Gothic Quarter, one of our favourite places, we try to visit at least once a year. He was a true gentleman and had asked my parents permission and did the whole down on one knee! I cried!!
So to the planning! We decided to split the wedding over 2 days. We chose the Saxon Mill for an intimate ceremony on the Friday with close friends and family. Not only is the venue and the surroundings beautiful, we also had our first date at the Saxon Mill so it felt right that we get married there too. The ceremony was beautiful, simple and so romantic, I walked down the aisle to Nina Simone, Here Comes the Sun, we had both Mums do a lovely reading and then walked back down the aisle to Signed, Sealed, Delivered by Stevie Wonder! The food was amazing, the setting was perfect and Jocelyn, the Event Manager, and her team were faultless.
For the Saturday we decided to have a festival and the perfect location was Hilltop Farm! Nick and I have shared some great Glastonbury’s together (even one at 6months pregnant!) we love live music and the party with our friends so our aim was to recreate a mini festival all of our own. Hilltop is such a beautiful location with amazing views. Lottie the Events Planner and Director of Hilltop Hideaways totally got it and really helped us get the feel we wanted. We had my Dads band, the Coffin Dodgers, to open the festival and followed that with another band and numerous DJ sets, it was so much fun and I think the pictures completely capture that feeling.
Terri Du Bois was our photographer and basically followed us about for 2 days! She truly interpreted the emotion of both days and captured so many images that we will cherish forever, some of which we are sharing with you now.
Both days we’re perfect, we wouldn’t have changed a thing! We had amazing weather and all of our friends and family around us.
So to the dress!!! I had a thought in my mind that I wanted a dress that could be both romantic and formal on day one but also relaxed and festival chic on day two. I trawled a number of shops and no one really got it…until I met the ladies at the Warwickshire Bridal Boutique. They were fab, totally relaxed me and let me try what I bought I wanted before suggesting a couple that I would never have picked!!! Of course these were perfect and one in particular just felt amazing! When I asked who the designer was the response sealed the deal for me. Jesus Peiro is Barcelona based and to me this was serendipitous, I had to have the dress! With guidance from Bella, Bea and Madi I could see how it would work perfectly for both days, a veil on day one and a flower crown on day two with a plain white bouquet on day one and a mixed bouquet on day two to match the crown. Perfect!
The dress needed nothing more, the fabric and fit was so beautiful that I decided not to accessorise with anything more than the flowers, veil and crown. With a few braided in my hair and some neutral makeup I was done!
My 6 little nieces and my daughter were perfect flower girls in cream embroidered simple dresses and my bridesmaid Mirrin wore a lovely and simple grey dress.
Nick and the grooms men went for a bit of a country look with blue Ted Baker suits accompanied by white shirt, tweed waistcoat and mustard ties. They all looked so handsome!!
We did the flowers ourselves and worked with Jeff from Birmingham Flowers & Plants to source wild flowers and gypsophila to fill both venues, they looked amazing!
As for the cake, we’ll it was a masterpiece! We chose to have a naked cake designed and made by Kirsten at Alexa Lauren Patisserie with a Victoria Sponge base, Salted Caramel and Chocolate Ganache mid layer and topped with a Carrot Cake! Yum yum!!
Thank you so much to Georgie and Nick for sharing their gorgeous photos with us
